Burning a yule log was a Viking ritualwhen bonfires celebrated the Winter Solstice. Today’s chocolate confections derive from their large log, selected on Christmas Eve, decorated with ribbons, dragged home & laid upon the hearth, to light & keep burning for the 12 days of Christmas
